What NOT to bring to Nature Camp:
Electronics of any kind
Valuables that might get lost or dirty
Knives or fire-starters
We will hand out t-shirts on Monday. Please have your camper wear them on Tuesday so we can take a group photo!
Drop-off/pickup:
Drop-off and pick-up will be in the Family Center (the white building).
Please bring your camper(s) to our check-in volunteers inside the Family Center (white building). Campers will receive a sticker name tag. From there, campers will be escorted inside to get their drawstring backpack and bandana (provided), and refill or pick up water bottles as needed. They will have a chance to use the bathroom, then will proceed through the building out the back door where supervised games and activities will await as other campers arrive.
To check out:
This year check-out will happen at the same location as check-in.
You will be asked to sign for each child you are picking up. You may need to provide identification.
Please pick up their t-shirt on Monday & have them wear it Tuesday for the group photo! Your camper should leave their backpack to use the next day.
At pick-up on Friday, they can take their backpack home with them.
Flow of the day:
In the morning, all the campers and volunteers will gather together for “Opening Circle.” This will include singing, prayer, and hearing stories from the Bible. During this time, we will learn about our theme and challenge for the day.
Kids will then disperse with their small groups to head out to the fields and forests to learn about the topic of the day, explore, and play.
Children will be served a small snack while at Nature Camp.
Sick camper policy:
If your child has vomited or had a fever in the last 24 hours prior to camp, or if they are coughing/sneezing/congested with cloudy mucus, please let us know and plan to keep them home from camp.
If any campers exhibit these symptoms while at camp, we will call you to have you come pick them up.
Late/absent:
If you are running more than 15 minutes late, or cannot attend camp due to unforeseen circumstances, please call the office at 607-277-3333, and they will text the volunteers on site.
Safety:
Please remember to check your camper for ticks EVERY DAY after camp.
